Nestled in the heart of Waikiki, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki has an architecturally beautiful outdoor ceremony space. The area is separated from the hustle and bustle of the hotel, and a view of the streets and ocean off a glass paned fencing makes it feel like you’ve stepped outside of the hotel and are in a private viewing area. The sun sets beautifully with an evening reception time, casting a glistening backlighting for wedding photos. Although the indoor ballroom area is naturally a bit dark for photos, the chandelier is a stunning addition and elevates the large room.
I know, we are only mere wedding photographers, but hands-down the Hyatt Regency Waikiki had one of the best meals we’ve ever had at a wedding. The buffet was expansive and they had a great mixture of unique local dishes and well known staples. Of course, couples choose the menu, but there was something for everyone. One of the chefs carved the meat for guests and the bar was open long enough for seconds and thirds. From appetizers to the late night snacks, the food was impeccable and we highly recommend. The dessert station had at least six different types of individual desserts, available throughout the night.
We can speak to the bar as onlookers, it was perfect. It was tucked in the back of the room away from the dance floor but close enough to do shots with family and friends if that’s your thing! The staff was friendly, professional, and overall this is a wonderful and convenient choice to hold your wedding in an area nobody will forget.
If you choose to stay at the Hyatt Waikiki, let us know! We’ll come tag along the day before as you walk the streets of Chinatown, explore the Dole Pineapple plantation and charter a deep sea fishing boat. We love adventures and would love to capture your trip as well as the wedding day.
